Alexander Tango could be asked to take on Irish Oaks winner Peeping Fawn in the Blue Square Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on August 4.
Tommy Stack’s filly coped with the testing conditions admirably on what was also her first attempt over a trip further than a mile in the Kilboy Estate Stakes on Sunday.
After winning the 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown, she finished a close fourth to Finsceal Beo in the Classic and was entitled to win dropped back into Listed company at the Curragh.
“It was nice to see her handle the ground because all her good form had been on fast ground,” said Fozzy Stack, the trainer’s son and assistant.
“She needed the race because she hadn’t had one for a long time and we are half-thinking about going for the Nassau at Goodwood with her – it would have been a big break from the Irish Guineas to Goodwood.
“She was entitled to win as she did on her level of form but there was a question mark whether she would be as effective on that ground.
“It could be the Nassau next for her.”
