Lawman shines at Chantilly
Lawman made virtually all to record an ultra-impressive success in the Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly today.
The French Derby winner was dropping back in trip to a mile but it made no difference as he powered clear when Olivier Peslier pressed the button two and a half furlongs out.
Stoneside gave chase but it was all in vain as Peslier was able to ease down the Jean-Marie Beguigne-trained Lawman at the line.
French 2000 Guineas hero Astronomer Royal raced in last position through the early exchanges but failed to seriously pick up in the straight under Kieren Fallon and was fourth, with British raiders Tobosa and Asperity chasing him home in fifth and sixth respectively.
