Beo tops Coronation runners

Finsceal Beo heads a high-class field of 13 in Friday’s Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Jim Bolger’s top-notch filly came within a whisker of pulling off an incredible 1000 Guineas treble when she was pipped by Darjina in the French version after winning at Newmarket in fine style.

Following her heartbreak at Longchamp, she gained compensation in the Irish Guineas and will be taking in her fourth Group One race of the season.

Darjina bids to confirm the French form on Friday with the third home that day, Jeremy Noseda’s Rahiyah, also having another crack at the Irish star.

John Oxx’s Arch Swing, a fine second at Newmarket but a disappointment at the Curragh, is also in opposition.

The Richard Hannon-trained Indian Ink and Michael Jarvis’ Yaqeen, fifth and sixth at Newmarket, reoppose again.

The presence of German 1000 Guineas Mi Emma adds an extra international element while Nell Gwyn winner Scarlet Runner, Silk Blossom, Puggy, Missvinski, Majestic Roi and Cherry Hinton complete the line-up.
