Frankie Dettori maintained his excellent run of form when partnering the John Gosden-trained Asperity to a thrilling victory in the Prix Paul de Moussac at Chantilly.

Having made the running until Stoneside nosed ahead well inside the distance, Dettori then galvanised his mount to snatch the narrowest of triumphs on the line.

Rod Collet’s runner-up looked to have made a winning move when pouncing under Thierry Gillet but failed to see out his race as well as the winner, who landed odds of 5-2 in the Group Three heat.

Grand Vista ran well to claim third but the well-supported favourite Battle Paint never looked like getting competitive back in fourth.
