Piggott back home
Racing legend Lester Piggott continues to improve following his recent health scare and is now back at his home in Newmarket.
Piggott was in Switzerland when he suffered a recurrence of a heart problem after originally falling ill over Christmas.
However, the 71-year-old has been released from hospital and William Haggas, his son-in-law, says he is now on the mend.
âHeâs much better now and came home at the weekend,â said Haggas.
âI saw him yesterday. He looked much better and my wife Maureen is thrilled.
âHeâs wanting to know what is going to win so I suppose that is a sign that he is on the mend!â
Piggott retired in 1994 after 4,493 career wins, including nine Derby victories, his first coming in 1954 on Never Say Die.
A special raceday in his honour at Newmarket was postponed and may be rescheduled for September.
