Dandy Man has been rerouted to Naas on Monday after soft ground ruled him out of the Betfair Temple Stakes at Sandown.

After consulting the four-year-old’s new owner, Princess Haya of Jordan, the Curragh trainer withdraw her stable star from Thursday’s Group Two contest.

The plan now is for Dandy Man to run in the Naas Sprint Stakes, a Listed event over five furlongs.

This race will be a prep for Royal Ascot, where he holds entries in the King’s Stand Stakes and the Golden Jubilee Stakes.

“If the ground stays good he’ll definitely go to Naas,” said Collins.

“It wasn’t a difficult decision to make as the ground was soft but it was a heartbreaking one because the horse is terribly well.

“He’ll go to Ascot after that. He’s in both big sprints so we’ll have to discuss what we’re going to do.”
