Jockey France remains in hospital after fall

Suzzanne France is described as “poorly” in hospital following a horror fall at Redcar.

The 7lb claimer was unshipped when her mount Uace Mac was hampered over a furlong out in the six-furlong handicap on Tuesday.

She is in James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough where she has undergone a second scan.

Malton-based Neville Bycroft, trainer of Uace Mac, said: “She had another scan this morning. They said it didn’t show anything major but she still hadn’t regained consciousness.

“They were hoping she might have regained consciousness and her faculties but she hadn’t done by midday today.

“Her parents are staying with her. Obviously there is a lot of pressure on them and a lot of anxiety.

“The hospital are saying she is poorly. That’s the official line from the ward sister.

“Everyone in the area is in shock about it. We’ve been inundated with calls and best wishes for her.”
