Crafty Cockney does it again

Cockney Rebel followed up his Newmarket Guineas win with another Classic success in the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

Settled much nearer the pace than three weeks ago by French pilot Olivier Peslier, Geoff Huffer’s colt held off Jim Bolger’s Creachadoir (7-1) in determined fashion to reward favourite-backers at 6-4.

Aidan O’Brien’s Duke Of Marmalade, a recent gamble of the race, held every chance but was beaten in a photo for third by He’s A Decoy (40-1).
