Kurten second in Madrid Cup

IRELAND'S Jessica Kurten made up for her disappointment at finishing

ninth in Saturday's Madrid Grand Prix by taking the runner-up prize

tonight (Sunday) in the SM El Rey Cup, which is second only to the

Grand Prix in prize money.

Once again riding Lady Georgina Forbes's, Castle Forbes Maike, the

37 year-old Rhineland-based rider was just over a second slower than

German winner Daniel Deusser, but still picked up a prize purse of

25,000 euro, ten times what she earned for her ninth place yesterday.

Kurten was one of eleven riders who made it through to the jump-off

from a starting field of 45.
