Game Terentina strikes at York
Terentia stuck to her task well to land a competitive sprint for the totesport 0800 221 221 Stakes at York.
Richard Mullen had the Ed McMahon-trained filly in the firing line virtually from the start of the five-furlong dash as Bigalos Bandit showed the way.
Getting her head in front over a furlong out, the 12-1 chance kept on gamely to hold Corridor Creeper’s challenge by three-quarters of a length, with Hogmaneigh a length and a quarter away third.
“She’s very game and doesn’t know when she’s beat. I’ve always thought she was Listed class and cut in the ground makes a difference,” said McMahon.
“She ran with credit at Musselburgh and was beaten by a Group horse (The Tatling). She’s a nice filly and will be a nice one for the paddocks.”
