Kinane has possible perfect ride
Mick Kinane could be in for the mount on Group One winner Simply Perfect when she launches an attack on either the French or English 1000 Guineas.
The Irishman partnered last yearâs Filliesâ Mile winner in a six-and-a-half-furlong gallop on Newmarketâs Rowley Mile on Wednesday lunchtime, and he may retain the mount in the Stan James-sponsored Classic on May 6.
Jeremy Nosedaâs charge is a 16-1 chance for the race, and the trainer said: âMick rode her and he was the ideal type of rider to have a sit on her.
âJohn Oxx has a filly in the English race (Arch Swing) and we will wait and see how things develop and see if he will be available to ride.â
Noseda added of the gallop: âI was very happy with the work, the filly is in good order. I couldnât have been happier with her preparation.
âI will now have a chat with the owners and decide if we are going to go to the English or French Guineas.â
Also in action on the Rowley Mile was last yearâs Ladbrokes St Leger winner Sixties Icon, who covered seven furlongs under Frankie Dettori.
âThe purpose of bringing him here was to give him a day out and Frankie said he felt fabulous,â Noseda explained.
âAll being well, we will try to get him here for the Jockey Club Stakes next month.â
