Monet's team favour Ryanair
Nicky Richards revealed Monet’s Garden is “fairly certain” to run in the Ryanair Chase rather than the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Although the nine-year-old grey has recently been cut in the betting for the Queen Mother on Wednesday, he now appears set for the two-mile-five-furlong Ryanair a day later.
Richards told the Racing Post: “I will chat with his owner David Wesley-Yates (on Monday morning), but I would not think he’ll be declared for the Champion Chase.
“He did a little bit on Saturday, and did it very well. He’s in great form and I think he’s spot-on.
“He seems to go on pretty much any ground, though we would not run him on fast.
“By Thursday, I’d think it will be nice, good jumping ground, and of course they’ll be running on fresh ground.
“I’d say it’s fairly certain he’ll be going for the Ryanair.”
