Racing board settles dispute with At The Races
At The Races and the British Horseracing Board have agreed to settle their dispute over pre-race data.
The exclusive racing channel and the racing authority were in conflict for some time about charges.
Last summer, the BHB went to London’s Appeal Court against a ruling in December 2005 that it had abused its market dominance in relation to pre-race data.
In the earlier case, At The Races accused the BHB of making discriminatory and exorbitant demands for the company’s use of its data.
Today they decided to put an end to the matter and issued a joint statement: “At The Races and the British Horseracing Board are pleased to announce that, following the Court of Appeal’s recent judgment, they have agreed to settle the matter between them.
“As a result, At The Races will not be seeking leave to appeal to the House of Lords. The British Horseracing Board will continue to allow At The Races access to and use of its authorised pre-race data. No further details of the settlement will be released.
“The parties are pleased that the matter is settled and look forward to working together in the best interests of British racing in the future.”
