Iniquity sets Llewellyn poser after morning workout

Den Of Iniquity, as low as 8-1 with Cashmans for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper, went some way to putting the finishing touches towards his Cheltenham Festival target with a workout this morning.

A hugely-impressive winner of his two starts to date, he came through a gallop at Carl Llewellyn’s Lambourn base with flying colours.

But, despite having ridden him on both occasions, his trainer/jockey is unsure if he will be in the saddle on March 14.

“He worked this morning, he worked well and we carried out some tests on him afterwards and everything was fine, he’s very healthy so it’s so far so good,” said Llewellyn.

“We have a few horses going to the meeting who want the ground to dry up, but we wouldn’t mind if the ground stays as it is for this one.

“It hasn’t been decided if I’m going to be riding him or not yet, though.

“We may have more than one runner in the bumper, we have four entered, and if we run more than one I won’t be able to ride him.

“If we only run him than I will be allowed to ride him, but a trainer cannot ride if he has more than one in the race as it is a conflict of interests.

“He has done everything we have asked of him so far and he would be one of our best chances of the meeting.”
