More Flat races for Ireland
Horse Racing Ireland have announced a number of changes to their programme for the first half of the Flat season.
A new two-year-old Listed race, the Golden Fleece Stakes, has been introduced at Leopardstown on July 4 while the Tipperary Stakes has been relocated from August to July 21.
Two Listed races for juveniles fillies will be run over new distances this term, with the Balanchine now over six furlongs and the Silver Flash going over seven.
The Lenebane Stakes at Roscommon has also changed distance from 10 furlongs to 12 furlongs.
The HRI have also increased non-black type juvenile winners races from two to five, while there will now be six Premier Handicaps worth €100,000 or more run at the Curragh – an increase on one last year.
