Leo reigns for King

Leo McGarry followed up a recent Stratford success with a comprehensive victory in the toteplacepot Novices' Hurdle at Fontwell today.

Owyn Nelmes set sail for home coming off the final bend and his lead was extended with those in behind suffering interference caused by Reve En Bleu.

The winning 9-4 joint favourite, trained in Newmarket by Neil King, sailed clear over the final couple of flights to see off 50-1 shot Court Alliance by eight lengths.

King said: "I am having a cracking season and the horses are in terrific form.

"It is nice to have a real horse on my hands and I have had him since November.

"The horse is thriving and is really enjoying himself. He is in at Huntingdon on Thursday but I don't think he'll go there.

"I have never had a Cheltenham Festival runner before but he will probably go there for either the Brit Insurance or the Ballymore Properties.

"He has been improving since I got him and he has earned his way there."

William Hill make Leo McGarry a 66-1 chance from 100-1 for the Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle at the Festival.
