Percy to enjoy Lingfield spin
Vodafone Derby winner Sir Percy is set to stretch his legs on the all-weather surface at Lingfield before he travels to Dubai for the Sheema Classic on March 31.
The Marcus Tregoning-trained colt has run just once since his heroics in the blue riband at Epsom, finishing a disappointing seventh of eight in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket in October after an interrupted preparation.
He has been pleasing in recent weeks, however, and the Lambourn-based handler told At The Races: “I suppose we won’t know until he runs again, but he seems in very good form and I shall bring him here (to Lingfield) a couple of times before he goes to Dubai, so he’ll be fit.
“The build up has gone really well, let’s just hope he can train on and show he is the best.”
