Five-times chase winner Southern Vic heads the 16 declared runners for today's Ellen Construction Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park.

The eight-year-old is bidding to provide trainer Ted Walsh with his second success and son Ruby with his first victory in the €100,000 feature.

Bob Treacy in 1999 was the last horse to win as top weight.

The first of today's races is off at 1.15pm.
