National aim for Berry

Graham Wylie hopes Bewleys Berry has done enough to make the cut for the John Smith's Grand National.

Trained by Howard Johnson, the nine-year-old finished a valiant second to Eurotrek over the Aintree fences in the Becher Chase in December.

"We are hoping he qualifies for the Grand National," Wylie said. "We will enter him and see what weight he is on and that will probably decide what he will do for the rest of the season.

"He runs very well fresh, but we will have to see what weight he is on.

"He might have one more run before he gets there, I'm not sure yet."

Bewleys Berry is a general 33-1 chance to win the four-and-a-half-mile hike on April 14.
