Huntingdon to inspect tomorrow morning

Friday’s National Hunt action at Huntingdon is subject to the track passing a precautionary inspection at 7.30am.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham is confident that racing will go ahead as planned, however, with kinder weather now forecast.

“We’ve called an inspection for 7.30 tomorrow morning but it’s just precautionary, nothing more,” she said. We’ve had about four and a half millimetres of rain but the track is fine and we’re not forecast any more rain but one of the brooks had actually flooded.

“It’s receding rapidly now though, so I don’t really envisage any problems but we decided to hold a precautionary inspection.”
