Sandown given go-ahead

Today’s racing at Sandown goes ahead after the course passed a precautionary 11.30am inspection.

Officials had been confident that the track would soak up any rain sufficiently to enable the top-class action to take place, but that assessment had been thrown into doubt after the forecast heavy rain arrived at the Esher venue this morning.
