Tony Culhane has confirmed he is one of two jockeys set to be charged by the UK Horseracing Regulatory Authority after a security department investigation.

Although the HRA has yet to issue charges, the northern-based rider has vowed to contest any case against him.

“Tony has informed me of the charges made against him by the HRA. He strongly denies all charges and has the full support of myself and all the trainers he rides for and will be contesting them strongly,” his agent Mark Gilchrist said.

However, the HRA refused to comment.

“We have not put any charges out yet so we can’t say who it is,” said HRA spokesman Owen Byrne.
