All In The Stars is likely to make his seasonal reappearance in the £100,000 (€148,600) boylepoker.com Chase at Cheltenham on Friday.

Paul Keane’s eight-year-old made good progress throughout last term, when victory in a valuable Wincanton handicap provided the undoubted highlight.

The gelding was sent off the well-supported 7-1 joint-favourite for the Scottish National on the back of that performance but failed to run his race and was eventually pulled up.

He has enjoyed a break from action since taking in that April attraction, however, and Keane hopes he can go one better than last year in the upcoming Prestbury contest.

“He was second in it last year when it was a £50,000 (€74,300) race but it looks like being more competitive now and I just hope they go a decent pace,” said the Dorset handler.

“He’s good and everything has gone to plan but he’ll be running off 141 and I’ll have to see if he is up to winning off that.”

All In The Stars has been given an entry in the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow on December 27 but Keane stressed that plans for the rest of the season are far from set in stone.

“He’s had two good seasons and won some nice races but he’s now off 141 and we’ll just keep our fingers crossed that he can win another one this time,” he added.
