Quest handed top weight
Desert Quest, as low as 10-1 for the Champion Hurdle in March, is set to carry top weight of 11st 12lb in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham on Sunday week.
Paul Nicholls’ charge won an Ascot handicap effortlessly on his last start and is set to carry 1lb more than Philip Hobbs’ Noble Request.
Hobbs’ Triumph Hurdle and Cesarewitch winner Detroit City will carry 11st if he takes his chance.
Nicholls also has last season’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Noland (10st 9lb) as an option.
Paul Nolan’s Galway Hurdle winner Cuan Na Grai has an attractive-looking weight of 10st 5lb while Jazz Messenger (10st 8lb), Red Square Lady (10st 6lb) and Sweet Wake (10st 3lb) could also cross the Irish Sea.
