New Seeker will attempt to be the Elite Racing Club’s first winner in Italy when he runs a Group Three contest in Milan on Sunday.

The six-year-old will also be trying to land his first Pattern-race success after his wins in valuable handicaps as well as two in Listed company.

His latest victory came at Listed level at Redcar in September in his first race since being moved by his owners to trainer Paul Cole from Clive Cox’s yard.

“He won really nicely last time and we are running out of opportunities over here so we thought we might as well take him abroad,” said Elite’s racing manager Matthew Budden, who hopes champion-jockey elect Ryan Moore will be in the saddle.

“Ryan Moore’s over there so we are hoping he will be able to ride. We’ve never had a winner in Italy so it would be nice to get one.”
