Kirk mulls Elhamri options
Sylvester Kirk has a choice of two options for his exciting Royal Ascot winner Elhamri.
The speedy two-year-old landed the Windsor Castle Stakes at the Berkshire venue when he overcame a bad draw to hold off Conquest and reward punters at 20-1.
The son of Noverre had won on his debut at Windsor beating Norfolk Stakes second Hoh Mike before disappointing in soft ground at Goodwood.
Now Kirk has to decide whether to go for the bumper pot of the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on July 22 or the more prestigious Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood on August 1.
âWe havenât decided where heâll go next but itâs a choice of the Super Sprint or the Molecomb,â said Kirk.
âItâs a huge pot for the Super Sprint but it is likely to be a more competitive race with loads of runners.
âHis only defeat has come at Goodwood as well so that will come into calculations, although it was soft ground that day.
âWe have to decide whether to go for the money or a Group Three race and weâll make a decision soon.â
