Goldrun to bid for Polly repeat
Alexander Goldrun satisfied connections with her second to the brilliant Hurricane Run at the weekend and the mare will now bid for a repeat success in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on July 1.
Jim Bolger’s tough five-year-old finished seven lengths behind Andre Fabre’s champion at the Curragh on Sunday and has come out of the race in good shape.
“She’s very well. She seems nice and fresh and she’s been eating up,” said Bolger.
“Everybody was impressed with her bar the handicapper, he chose to drop her 3lb for the run, which was rather generous of him if she was going to run in handicaps.
“She’ll go for the Pretty Polly back at the Curragh now.”
In last year’s Pretty Polly Stakes Alexander Goldrun beat Red Bloom by a length and a half prior to winning the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood and taking her Group One tally to four.
