Alexandrova on Musidora

Alexandrova, ante-post favourite for the Vodafone Oaks, will face just five rivals as she makes her long-awaited seasonal reappearance at York tomorrow.

Aidan O’Brien’s filly heads a select field for the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes, one of the traditional major trials for the Epsom Classic.

Alexandrova, who is as low as 7-2 with William Hill for the Oaks, won one of her four starts last term but caught the eye when a narrow second behind Nannina in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket last September.

The Paul Cole-trained High Heel Sneakers finished fourth in that race and reopposes in tomorrow’s Group Three contest, while Ed Dunlop pitches Lingfield maiden winner Lake Shabla in at the deep end.

Clive Brittain gives Jabbara her racecourse debut in the 10-furlong event, with Michael Stoute’s Short Skirt and the Pat Haslam-trained Maroussies Wings completing the field.
