Affairs takes Windsor honours
Home Affairs made virtually all to land an easy success in the Listed vccasino.com Royal Windsor Stakes.
Sir Michael Stoute’s four-year-old finished fourth in last year’s Group One Prix Jean Prat in France but he took a step down in class for the extended mile event at Windsor.
Richard Hughes took a hold after breaking from the stalls but he soon let Home Affairs stride to the lead and was never seriously troubled.
The Dansili colt, sent off the 4-6 favourite, was still travelling well a furlong out and he only had to be pushed out to beat Momtic by two and a half lengths.
Take A Bow, who seemed to slip when breaking from the stalls, stayed on to claim third.
