Silca's aiming for Ascot

Silca’s Sister is to be aimed at the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot after finishing fourth in the Stan James 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday.

The filly, having her first run for Godolphin and making her seasonal debut, stayed on well and was only beaten five lengths by the winner Speciosa.

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com: “She will probably be aimed at the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

“We were very pleased with Silca’s Sister. She ran well, but I think she might have been better if the ground had been genuinely good.

“She handled the soft ground, but it may have been a little too testing in the end.”
