Indesatchel plans in limbo
Plans for Indesatchel are on hold after the four-year-old disappointed on his seasonal bow.
David Wachmanâs charge notched up a hat-trick last season before finishing second to Shamardal in the French 2000 Guineas at Longchamp last May.
He went off the boil after that run, however, and also failed to impress when finishing fourth behind Common World at the Curragh last week.
âI suppose I was a bit disappointed with that. He didnât seem to pick up at all but heâs had plenty of problems, and maybe heâs not what he was but weâll give him another go,â Wachman told At The Races
âHe hurt his back as a two-year-old on his very first start and since then we have had problems with him.â
Fracas, fourth in last yearâs Vodafone Derby, has not been seen since disappointing in the Irish equivalent but Wachman is pleased with his progress.
âIâm very happy with him. He seems to be moving well and hopefully will be in all the 10 and 12-furlong races,â he added.
Meanwhile, Wachman is planning a fact-finding mission with Cougar Bay in the Museum Maiden Stakes at Newmarket next week.
The three-year-old has been transferred to Wachmanâs care from Frances Crowleyâs yard after finishing fourth in both his starts last year.
âIâm going to run him in a maiden at Newmarket next week. He wants good ground and thereâs no good ground here,â Wachman explained.
âThat will tell us if he is good, bad or indifferent. He has worked quite nicely but his runs last year didnât stack up to much but we will have to see.â
Wachman is harbouring Classic ambitions for Arosa, who was second on her only start last term.
âSheâs a quite a nice filly and wants goodish ground. She doesnât really want soft ground,â he said.
âWe will try to get her ready for the Irish Guineas but we would like to get a run into her between now and then.â
