Riding her eight-year-old stallion Commander, Ireland’s Jessica Kurten chalked up her first victory at Hasselt, Belgium this afternoon.

The 36-year-old Irish rider piloted her German-bred horse through the Carlsberg Prize two-phase competition without a fault, and crossed the line less than half a second ahead of Belgian runner-up, Dominique Hendrickx.
