Easy for Denman at Bangor
Denman strolled to another impressive victory en route to the Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival with success in the JPCS Novices’ Hurdle at Bangor.
The early-morning withdrawal of Black Jack Ketchum robbed the race of much of its use as a pointer to the big meeting in March, but it did prove the Paul Nicholls-trained six-year-old is in good health.
The 1-12 favourite was in the first three early in the contest before stamping his authority on the race on the final circuit and sauntering to a 17-length victory from One Sniff in second.
VC and Coral left Denman as their 3-1 favourite for the Cheltenham contest.
