Saturday’s meeting at Cheltenham is subject to a precautionary inspection at 7am in the morning.

Clerk of the course Simon Claisse will take a look at the track as overnight temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing.

“It’s raceable today and there was no overnight frost,” explained Claisse. “However, we are forecast to go down to minus-two degrees tonight – I just don’t want to come in in the morning and find it has got any lower.

“We should be okay if it is only minus two.”

The valuable card begins at 1.00pm and features the Victor Chandler Chase, the Byrne Bros Cleeve Hurdle and the Letheby And Christopher Chase.

“We will be in much earlier than 7am so we will try and get the news out either way as soon as possible,” added Claisse.

The going at Prestbury Park is currently good.
