King fine after Leamington success

Paul Nicholls reported Be Be King to have come out of his totescoop6 Leamington Novices’ Hurdle victory at Warwick on Saturday unscathed.

The seven-year-old landed the valuable two-mile-five-furlong event with three and a half lengths to spare from runner-up Oscar Park.

And although he will still hold a Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle entry, Nicholls insists Be Be King is still being primed to join the chasing ranks next term.

“He has come out of his race really well and he is A1,” the Ditcheat handler told Teletext.

“We’ve no immediate plans for him but he is fine, which is the main thing.

“He’s getting his jumping together and is clearly progressing the right way so we are very pleased with him.

“He’ll definitely have an entry for the SunAlliance but he’s very much a chaser for next season.”
