Frosty Towcester abandoned

Towcester were forced to call off this afternoon’s meeting due to frost.

Following an inspection at 11.30am, clerk of the course Robert Bellamy said: “Conditions have not improved significantly enough for racing to take place at 12.15.”

Temperatures had reached minus-three degrees overnight and Bellamy had hoped weather conditions would work in his favour throughout the morning.

It was the third inspection of the day at the Northamptonshire track following inconclusive results at 10.30am and 8.30am.
