Salmon still on course for Haydock

Beef Or Salmon remains on course for a clash with Kicking King at Haydock later this month despite being withdrawn minutes before the start of the Leopardstown November Handicap.

The nine-year-old had been rerouted to the two-mile Flat race after the James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase was lost on Saturday due to a security alert at Down Royal.

Trainer Michael Hourigan said: “He’s fine. It’s just a little, minor problem, nothing serious. It’s still Haydock next for the Betfair Chase (November 19) all being well.”
