The North Yorkshire-based handler has enjoyed considerble success this term with the likes of Amadeus Wolf and Palace Episode.

He added to his best seasonal tally when Cardinal Venture (9-1) stormed away on the favoured far side to score by 11 lengths from Thunderwing in the Northern Racing College Apprentice Handicap.

“Everything was right for this horse. He loves the ground and was drawn on the far side and they left him alone in front,” Ryan said.

“He’ll keep going over the winter. He’s not getting any younger at seven and he likes the all-weather. There is good prize money on the all-weather so we’ll keep him going.”
