Champion chance for Goldrun
Alexander Goldrun could make a quick reappearance in the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket a week on Saturday if she has taken her outing in France well.
A winner of four Group Ones, Jim Bolger’s filly was attempting back-to-back successes in the Prix de l’Opera last Sunday but had to settle for third behind Kinnaird.
Bolger told the Racing Post: “She didn’t show her usual turn of foot or her customary sparkle but she is fine. She has returned home and she has eaten up.
“We will see how she is in a few days and then I will talk to owner Noel O’Callaghan about the Champion Stakes.
“However, she would only go for that if she was really bouncing and if she isn’t we would wait for the Hong Kong Cup in December.”
