Kinane set to go back to work
Mick Kinane could be back riding work before the end of the week after having the plaster cast removed from his right arm today.
The leading Irish jockey fractured his wrist in two places after a fall at the Curragh over four weeks ago.
He was involved in a nasty incident when his mount Redstone Dancer was brought down after another horse fell forcing him to miss the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown and last weekend's Irish Field St Leger meeting at the Curragh.
Kinane’s wife Catherine said: “He saw the specialist today and had the plaster taken off. Hopefully he’ll sit on one or two for Mr Oxx on Thursday or Friday and see how it goes.
“By the weekend he’ll have a better idea of when he might be able to return to race-riding. It would be great if he could be back in time for the Arc.”
Kinane is keen to be back in the saddle for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend on October 1 and 2 when he would partner Azamour in the big race should the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes winner recover from a tweaked muscle sustained in the Irish Champion Stakes.
