Boule settles for third in Germany

Jon Akehurst´s Boule d´Or was a creditable third in the Group Three Preis der Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe at Baden-Baden.

The 21-1 outsider, ridden by Nigel Day, found Dalicia and the favourite Soldier Hollow too good in the mile and a quarter contest.

“He’s run a very good race from the outside draw. From a better position he would have finished closer,” said jockey Nigel Day.

Sir Mark Prescott´s Succession was runner-up in the Japan Racing Association Trophy, a Listed race over a nine furlongs.

The three-year-old filly, ridden by Jean-Pierre Guillambert, was beaten three-quarters of a length by Grantsville.
