Channon aiming for further glory
Fresh from Group One success in France last weekend with Silca’s Sister, Mick Channon returns to Deauville on Sunday with Turnkey lining-up for the Prix de Meautry.
The three-year-old, who has been off the track since finishing runner-up in a Listed race at Cork in May, will be joined in the six-furlong dash by three other British raiders.
Paul Cole will be double-handed with Eisteddfod and Andronikos, while Newmarket handler Peter Chapple-Hyam runs Montgomery’s Arch in the Group Three contest.
Sir Mark Prescott and Jean Bernard Eyquem have developed a decent partnership and the trainer-jockey combination will be aiming to keep up the good work with Cupid’s Glory, who tackles the Group Three Prix Quincey.
Also on the same card, Elie Lellouche’s Policy Maker, who finished last in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, seeks compensation in the Group Two Grand Prix de Deauville.
