Scorpion handed Leger mission
Scorpion is to be targeted at the Ladbrokes St Leger following his record-breaking success at Longchamp last week.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien revealed today that the brilliant winner of the Grand Prix de Paris was now enjoying a well-earned holiday.
After that the Montjeu colt will be aimed at the final Classic of the season at Doncaster in September.
“He’s come out of the race really well and he’s earned a break now,” said O’Brien.
“He’ll be trained for the autumn. Obviously the St Leger is a nice race to go for. After that we’ll have to see.”
Scorpion is already as short at 6-4 favourite to give O’Brien his third triumph in the world’s oldest Classic.
