Royal rules in Rockingham Handicap
Bali Royal has come out on top in the €100,000 Ladbrokes Rockingham Handicap at the Curragh today.
The seven-year-old mare was having only her second race in Ireland since joining Tommy Stack’s Tipperary stable having previously been trained by Milton Bradley and then Malcolm Saunders.
She was bought by Roger O’Callaghan at the Newmarket December Sales for 20,000 guineas.
The 10-1 shot, ridden by Wayne Lordan, led over a furlong out and held Majestic Times by half a length.
Stack said: “She was blinkered for the first time. She has plenty of toe and she needed the run last time. She’s in foal to Danetime and might have another run. We’ll have to see.”
