Beau to swerve Hamilton
Smokin Beau, a winner at Lingfield last week, is unlikely to make a quick return to action at Hamilton on Friday.
Trainer Nick Littmoden has entered the eight-year-old in the Tennents Scottish Stewards Cup Handicap after his three-quarter-length success on Saturday.
However, Smokin Beau is set to bypass the event in favour of a run at either Newbury or Goodwood.
“We haven’t made a definite decision yet but I would say he’s unlikely to run at Hamilton,” Littmoden said.
“We have got other targets in mind – he’s in the Hong Kong Sprint, the Stewards’ Cup and the Ayr Gold Cup, so I would say he’s 90 per cent certain not to run.
“He’s bouncing at the moment but we need to be careful not to run him on ground that’s too fast.”
