Goodwood meeting abandoned

Today's racing at Goodwood has been abandoned due to fog. The meeting was finally called off following an inspection at 2.45pm.

“The conditions have worsened and we have had no alternative due to health and safety,” said Seamus Buckley, clerk of the course.

“We had a glimmer of hope around three-quarters of an hour ago but sadly it didn’t improve and I am sure and know that we have done the right thing. All racegoers will get a refund.”
