Jack High, trained by Ted Walsh and ridden by Garrett Cotter, won the Betfred Gold Cup at Sandown Park this afternoon.

The Irish raider, who was last seen finishing runner-up in the Irish Grand National, put his stamina to good use when running on strongly to fly past Juveigneur on the run-in to score by a length and a quarter.

The 16-1 winner was followed home by Juveigneur (14-1), with 4-1 favourite Kelami staying on well to take third, while Whitenzo (9-1) was fourth for Paul Nicholls.

The result confirmed Martin Pipe as champion jumps trainer for the 15th time.
