Sunday’s race meeting at Cork abandoned

Sunday’s chase action at Cork has been called off.

A track inspection at the Mallow venue has found the chase course unfit for racing.

It means the Mount Ruby Handicap Chase and the Mallow Novice Handicap Chase have both been abandoned.

This morning’s inspection at Leopardstown found the track fit for racing.

However due to an adverse weather forecast, the Turf Club has said that a precautionary inspection will take place on Sunday morning before the meet gets the all clear.

There will be no stalls in operation at Naas tomorrow due to ground conditions.

The first of seven races goes to the post at 2.40pm.
