Like-A-Butterfly, the 7-2 favourite, returned to her best with a gutsy performance to win the Powers Gold Cup.

Given a brilliant ride by Tony McCoy, J P McManus’s 11-year-old mare beat Forget The Past, with Watson Lake third in the Grade One event.

Barry Geraghty almost stole the race when he powered to the front on Forget The Past with four to jump, but his mount hit the second-last and then ran down the final fence.

Meanwhile McCoy got two good jumps from Christy Roche’s charge and wore down the runner-up close home to win by half a length.
