Celestial Gold capped a great day for Martin Pipe and his connections with a game victory in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham today.

Celestial Gold capped a great day for his connections with a game victory in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham today.

The 12-1 shot was completing a 99-1 treble for owner David Johnson, trainer Martin Pipe and jockey Timmy Murphy.

Leading after the second-last, Celestial Gold stormed up the hill to beat Thisthatandtother (13-2) by a length and three-quarters, with 3-1 favourite Monkerhostin five lengths further away third.
